Why I Like This Font: I like this font because it gives an idea of creativity through the way it looks as if it’s been doodled on to the page. It also gives the idea of informality which can show that a relationship is trying to be built between the magazine and reader.

Why I Dislike This Font: I dislike this font because it doesn’t quite represent the indie genre as a whole. It doesn’t really link to the style of the music, more the style of the fashion. I’d prefer a font that links to the style of music completely.

Why It’s Appropriate For My Genre: It’s appropriate for my genre because it shows the creativity in Indie music.

Why It’s Appropriate For My Audience: It’s appropriate for my audience because it shows the creativity that is expressed in my audience’s favourite genre of music.

My Final Decision…

I’ve decided to use Verve Alternative as the font for my cover artist. This is because it’s distinctive and will make the artist stand out among the other graphic images and plugs.
